Best Way to Clean Copper Jewelry With Labradorite (SAFE METHOD)

1. Prepare a gentle cleaning solution

Mix:

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 1–2 drops mild dish soap (like Dawn)

Do NOT use lemon juice, vinegar, ketchup, or anything acidic — these can damage labradorite’s polish.

2. Clean the copper carefully

  • Dip a soft microfiber cloth into the soapy water.

  • Gently wipe the copper parts of the jewelry.

  • Avoid soaking the entire piece — labradorite should not be submerged for long periods.

3. Clean around the stone

  • Use a soft toothbrush or cotton swab.

  • Dip in the same mild soapy solution.

  • Gently clean around the bezel or wire wrap.

  • Avoid scrubbing the stone directly.

5. Rinse quickly

  • Lightly rinse under cool water for 1–2 seconds only, keeping the stone exposure minimal.

  • Pat dry immediately with a soft cloth.

6. Polish the copper safely

  • Use a polishing cloth specifically for copper (Sunshine cloths are perfect).

  • Rub only the metal parts.

  • Avoid touching the labradorite with the polishing compounds.

⚠️ Do NOT use:

  • Tarnish dips

  • Acidic cleaners

  • Salt + vinegar solutions

  • Baking soda scrubs

  • Ultrasonic cleaners

  • All can damage or dull labradorite.
